If you’ve bought the Venus Factor or have read my review then you’ll know that it mainly focuses on resistance workouts using weights or your own body weight.

You’ll do stuff like push ups, pull ups, squats with weights, lunges and a bunch of other similar exercises.

This is counter to what you see 99% of women do when we usually workout.

If you’ve ever been to a gym then pretty much all us women are doing something like running on a treadmill or doing a spin cycle class.

Just plain cardio.

But why is this? Why does the V.F program focus on resistance workouts and not cardio?

Well this is because cardio sucks and most women who exercise suffer from chronic cardio disease, they’re automatically drawn to cardio workouts because they think it’s the best way to lose weight.

Well this simply isn’t true.

Resistance workouts are proven to burn up to twice as many calories than cardio workouts because of the after burn effect. When you fatigue your muscles they continue to burn calories long after your workout.

This means you can opt for a shorter resistance workout and get better results.

On top of that resistance workouts are what make a woman look more toned.

If you’re running on a treadmill the only thing you’re really toning up is your calves.

By doing resistance workouts you can focus on toning up different body parts which will make you look great.

But won’t I get all muscled?

Many women are scared to pick up weights because they’re worried they build muscle and start to look like a man.

Unfortunately most of those women you see who have huge muscles are on steroids.

The average woman who trains with weights isn’t going to build a lot of muscle even if you combine it with intermittent fasting because we just don’t have the amount of testosterone that men do.

Plus we are doing a calorie deficit on the Venus Factor program and it’s hard to build any muscle on a deficit.

What will happen when you do resistance workouts is you will burn fat a lot faster and make your muscles more toned making you look fit and healthy.

But mostly you’ll just burn fat.

I don’t know about you but I’m sick of cardio. Any time I get off the treadmill I just feel drained but after a resistance workout I feel more alert and I feel like I’ve actually made a change.
